we undated with the software you suggested, but even though it opens all the
DSI menu, no camera is found because that update software does not include
the drivers needed for XP.

Have you tried the Nebulosity program? It can be combined with that author's PHD positioning driver:

I realize that you have to pay to use it, but it appears that Meade is being unhelpful in any case.
