HI Stan,

That's normal. Most bulk list providers (freelists.org is one) send these out to remind you that you are subscribed. You should usually receive one once a month.

The plea for help is just an added "bonus", but I've donated to them on more than one occasion as I subscribe to a number of very useful lists that they host.
