[sac-forum] Re: Halloween neighborhood astronomy

Same here.  Jupiter on 1 scope.  Double double on another, and Coathanger
cluster on 20x80's with a Parallelogram mount.  The biggest hit by far was the
'light saber' or green laser pointer!

That's the first time I've had a scope out on Halloween.  It'll never be the
same!

We had a cul-du-sac halloween party tonight, which was a perfect opportunity to
show Jupiter to all the neighborhood monsters.  - Paul

For folks staying home to hand out candy to the little monsters tonight, you
might want to take the opportunity to do the Bernie Sanden idea of showing off
a few sky tricks (or is it treats?) from a scope strategically placed in
view of the treats (or tricks) you're handing out.
The heart of that monster scorpion is very near to the early setting crescent
and ...
From Joe Orman's Sky Events:
October 31 (evening): Venus 5 degrees above crescent Moon, low in SW after
sunset. Moon 7 degrees to left of Venus on
November 1.
Jenn.
