[sac-forum] Green Lasers at Thunderbird tonight

All,

Due to other commitments, I won't be at T-Bird tonight. With that in mind,
I'd like to remind everyone that if Sky Harbor Airport is running East
operations (As they are now as I write this), Arrivals from the north WILL
pass directly over Thunderbird Park at about 5000' MSL (About 3700agl). I'm
asking that when using your Green Lasers to point out things in the sky to
our guests that you take a quick look up to see if any aircraft are nearing
the field BEFORE turning on the laser. Most likely aircraft will approach
from due north heading due south. Keep in mind Deer Valley Airport is only 6
miles east and aircraft headed there also pass over the park (from the west,
and they are at a lower altitude).

While I realize the actual threat to aircraft from green lasers is small,
the perceived threat is great. I'd prefer that we take precautions to avoid
ending up having our event reported on the news with the lead in "Film at
Eleven".

Thanks for your attention to this. Looks like you'll have great skies
tonight.

Clear Skies
