[sac-forum] GCSP June 8-15, 2002

The Saguaro Astronomy Club is invited to the Grand Canyon Star Party (June 8
- June 15) again this year and will be hosting a SAC Luncheon on Sunday June
9th in the Aspen Loop of Mather Campground about noon. There will be a
memorial for Bob Goff afterwards. Come up for the weekend or a day or a week
- you can use a break! Bring your bicycle. Bring a telescope (or maybe just
binoculars on a tripod) and save the $20 entry fee, and free entry for all
in your party if you say you are an amateur astronomer there as a volunteer
worker for the Star Party. Evening talks begin at sunset every day at
Yavapai Observation Station with the Star Party following. A two-space SAC
campsite is reserved at Mather Campground on the South Rim. Space is
available for one camper truck or tent trailer early in the week and 2 later
in the week for this campsite. Let me know (spicastar@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) by
the 5th if you are interested and tell me what specific days and I will
coordinate it and get you the paperwork. If no one is interested it's OK, we
will just be given a smaller campsite. For complete details including fire
restrictions in effect and possible additional free campsite availability,
see the TAAA website GCSP page at www.tucsonastronomy.org.
