[sac-forum] [Fwd: Phoenix Trip]

An amateur astronomer, Paul Rothove, I met during a seminar when I was
working will be in the Phoenix area from the 23rd through the 29th to
attend training. He would like to attend a star party on the 27th or
28th. Unfortunately, I will be at the SAS meeting and RTMC from the 24th
through the 29th and so cannot meet with him. I noticed there is a club
star party planned for the 28th. Is it still at the Cherry road site?
Would it be possible for someone to send him directions on how to get
there? If not, send them to me or send me the web link to a prior
newsletter that has the directions. I can copy and send to him. I do
not know if he will have a vehicle to drive. He may think the star party
will be someplace in or near Phoenix, and is not aware it will be 70+
miles north.
Thanks.
Stan

Hi Stan,

I will be in Phoenix for training the week of May 23 though 29. Are you still
living in Phoenix or have you moved to your place near Prescott. In any event,
I was wondering if either you or some of your fellow club members would be
doing any observing on Friday or Saturday nights. In any event, it would be
good to get together and chat.

The clear sky clock for Phoenix sure looks good to me. We only dream about it
being that clear and transparent here.

On the telescope making front, I have made a Mirror-O-Matic grinding machine
but have not been able to use it because we are adding on to our house and have
been living with the in-laws for the past three months. The addition should be
completed shortly after I return from Arizona. I have a sixteen inch project
on tap.

Clear skies,

Paul Rothove
