[sac-forum] Forums

Hi Darrell, Hope you will opt to attend some SAC meetings and both formal and informal star parties with the club. We have terrific people and an absolutely awesome array of talent within this club. They are all a tremendous source of knowledge and reference. Want to know ANYTHING about "seeing?" A.J. Crayon is your man. Interested in photometry? Jeff Hopkins is doing very serious work in this field from his own observatory on the west side of Phoenix and loves to share his work with anyone interested in this aspect of astronomy. Tom & Jenn Polakis are deeply involved in many aspects of astronomy in general and if you want information on just about ANY viewing site in Arizona, Tom & Jenn can help you out with that one. Steve Coe is an accomplished and published writer in astronomy. There are many very accomplished astrophotographers within the club and they regularly produce wonderful images. Check out their web sites when links are offered on the forum. We also sport members who have built their own equipment from the ground up and generously share their considerable knowledge.

Steve Palmer is new to the club and I do not believe he personally knows very many in the SAC club yet.

I have one more suggestion to help you "dive in" again with astronomy. If you go to the SAC home page and click on "List Subscription." Toward the bottom of the page you will see a link to subscribe to the Arizona Observing forum. It is well worth signing on to receive. It covers all of Arizona and has an added great benefit of the contributions of Brian Skiff, a professional astronomer at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff. He has generously given of his time and immense amount of knowledge to this forum and posts regularly.

Best, Janis
