[sac-forum] Re: DSM reading for Antennas on Sat. Oct 25 ??

A couple folks at ALLAZ mentioned looking at all of Stephen's Quints as well, I didn't catch what sized scope though.

Would it help if I told you that Chris Hanrahan spotted all FIVE members of
Stefan's Quintet in his 12-inch Dob Saturday? I confirmed it, as did at
least two other observers (I can't recall their names). I could only get 4
in my C-11-- 7318A and B could not be split apart.

Randy Peterson wrote back to say that "Marty's" DSM reading of 21.3 was
at Farnsworth, not Antennas, sorry.
So I guess we don't have a comparison reading from Antennas for last
Sat. night...

Hmm. There was no "Marty" at the Antennas on Saturday night. No one who
was there had a DSM (to my knowledge).

Randy Peterson reports "Marty" got a reading of 21.3 at Antennas on
Saturday night (no time specified).

And Bill Van Orden ("Beevo") reported these readings for Farnsworth
Ranch on Friday, vs. 21.2 by Tom Polakis on Saturday night (I stand
corrected!):

I had a few readings Friday night at the AASP of 21.2x to 21.34 I know
Ken Sikes took some readings also
Beevo<<

The sky seemed rather "grey" to me on Thursday and Friday nights (at
Fountain Hills), but fairly dark with good contrast on the Milky Way,
etc. at Farnsworth Ranch at the A-ASP on Saturday night; although around

sunset, there was obviously dust layers near the horizon on Saturday.
When I observed the area of Canis Major and Puppis with my 8x40
binoculars ca. 5:15 am Sunday morning at Farnsworth Ranch, the air
seemed to have cleared near the horizon. Many smaller stars were
visible brightly below Sirius, down to Canopus. I easily spotted
several brilliant M clusters in the area with the binoculars...
