I always had the notion that AL membership was expensive, but Tim's summary 
cleared things up for me.  A $10 annual club fee, and the individual option of 
joining, seems reasonable, and a trivial expense for SAC.

For the record, I have no interest in joining the AL, but I'd support club 
membership.  As I understand it, those who are working on observing programs 
would be entitled to some nice observing club bling with AL membership.

Does the AL administer these pins to non-AL clubs?  The Reflector and AL 
meetings likely have no value to SAC, but are there other benefits worth 
discussing?
