Jack, if you wanted the Herschel II pin (bling) and certificate, you could
join the AL as a member-at-large, submit your logs, and get the award.  You
only need to be a member in the year in which you submit your log.

For my Herschel 400 award, I received both the numbered Certificate and 
a lapel pin from the AL. I wonder if that is the case for the Herschel 
II and if we had to pay a fee with submittal.
