Do you have your observations ready for Leo Minor? If you don't have
notes for any of these gems, the next couple of weekends will provide a
nice time for early evening observing. If you haven't submitted any
observations in the past, now is the time to do so.

As a refresher here's the list; starting with the double star that
caused such confusion. It is OSS105 at RA 10h 29.9m, Dec 28° 35m and is
from Otto Struve’s First Index Catalog. It isn't clear how accurate the
separation and position angle are so let's try to measure them - even if
it is the old eye ball method. All of the other entries are galaxies -
no surprise here.

NGC3294 is an 11.8 mag spiral,
NGC3344 is another 9.9 mag spiral,
NGC3432 is an 11.3 mag barred spiral, can you see the bar?
NGC3486 another 10.5 barred spiral, again the bar?
NGC3504 an 11 mag barred spiral.

I tried to not give away to much of what can be seen in hopes of teasing
you to go out, observe and submit notes for the next column.

If you have the time and the skies, why not try Canes Venatici?

Clear skies,
aj
