[sac-forum] Asteroid Impact 780,000 Years ago

Scientists think they've found an asteroid impact site similar in scale to
the one the killed the dinosaurs, but happened only 780,000 years ago.

The latter article mentions that this was about the same time as the last
flip of the Earth's magnetic field.  The claim that the impact caused the
flip definitely needs more convincing work than what's presented in the
article.  :-)  Knowing the media, its likely the relationship was merely
commented on, which as good as a fact for the reporter.
