[sac-forum] Re: Another site - Agua Caliente

...And the site names in the past have had some reference to what one might to
experience or a land mark at the site such as "Antennas". Maybe with the
proximity to the prison it could be "Chain Gang City" or because of Palo Verde
it could be "Neutron Field" BUT in the end I would think it fitting with our
field that to the discoverer goes the right to name it. Be it a comet, or a
planet or an observing site. So Steve, AJ what'll it be....

Probably more than anything else, my affinity for the old name likely has
its roots in the Lou Reed song 'Dirty Boulevard'. ;-)

Driving a six mile stretch of an Az dirt road to get to an observing site
seems more aptly named Dirt Boulevard than Hot Water.

Here's another vote for "Dirt Boulevard"

The name sounds swanky, or something:

boul·e·vard (bʊl'ə-värd', bū'lə-) pronunciation

n.

   1. A broad city street, often tree-lined and landscaped.

Indeed.
