[sac-forum] Re: [AZ-Observing] Cherry Rd Report - not good

I just got back from a drive to the Rim, Clint Wells, and Pine. I drove by the Cherry Rd Site about 20 minutes ago. The cumulus clouds are there, but I think although there may be some rain early evening, it will clear off for the rest of the night and should be good. However, this is just my feeling. Since Steve has already left, and the Clear Sky Clock does not look good, I am probably wrong. Also, since I live up here and do not have to make the drive up, it is easier for me to make a prediction.

I just finished speaking with Steve Coe, about 2pm, via cell phone, about the
conditions at Cherry Road and they are not good for telescope use, he is
packing up to head home. There are clouds in all directions except straight
up, they are coming from the south and southeast. Clouds up north, around
Flagstaff, are larger, much darker and taller. They are building more and more
over the last couple of hours or so. The temperature is at the 93d F mark and
climbing.
I checked Clear Sky Clock for Cherry Rd and the cloud cover and humidity are on
the increase.

Joe Goss will remain at the site as long as it doesn't threaten to rain, hail
or snow. So if you decide to go, he should (may?) be there.
