I always think of the proximity of Quartzsite when thinking of Antennas
site, and remember how it always seems so windy there. That's prob since
I only go thru there in August. My handy city info website shows its
wind is still below the national average tho.

This site gives anything you would want to know about any city in US+,
lots of graphs & charts, shows weather aves like temp, rain, humidity,
even cloudy days!

The wind was our biggest issue prior to the clouding and lightening.
Even 1 hour after sunset, the winds were still whipping things around
above 10 knots. The saddest part was the continuous teasing with
incredible glimpses of the Milky Way between the clouds. We all held
out hope that things would blow around us, but as was stated earlier, we
felt as if the storm bank was centered directly above us.
BTW - hope the rest of you got out before the rain. As Bob and I
cleared the antenna buildings where the dirt road turns back North, we
were hit with a pretty steady rainfall until we got to the 10. Also,
anybody get a scoop on why they had the Westbound lanes closed at Hovatter?
