[sac-forum] Re: 5" F/15 refractor demo at Stone Haven

Jimmy, would you be interested in Orion's Sky View mount with the GoTo upgrade?
 I use it with my 8" SCT and the GoTo works great. It is an equatorial mount.
Reason I make the offer is I want to upgrade the mount and would part with the
mount and use the $$ for financing.

  I'd like to invite anyone interested in observing through the 5" F/15
refractor I mentioned at the August meeting. I'll have it set up at Stone
Haven, and we can do side-by-side comparisons with the 5" F/9.3 APO. Could be
fun, especially if you're interested in maybe buying it.

  Drop me an email here, or call me on my cell, 602-390-0118. A map is
available via a blind link on my website, (click on the dome on the front page).

  Subject: [sac-forum] Conjunction on Saturday Aug.23
  Date: Wed, 20 Aug 2008 19:10:22 -0700

  Howdy all;

  SAC is having a Novice Group star party at Cherry Road for this Saturday and
I fired up my planetarium program and there will be a great planetary
conjunction after sunset. Saturn will be 9 degrees from the Sun and may not be
visible. But, Venus and Mercury will be 21 degrees from the Sun and very close
together. Mars will be above the two of them. Ought to be a great sight.

  Clear skies to us all;

  Steve Coe
