[sac-forum] Re: 2007 TU24 a success!

Thank for the input Tim,

Actually, I should have clarified my mesg. Sorry, for the confusion.. I did
have my 6" reflector out looking for TU24, with my Nagler eyepieces. and just
gave up and went to the bino's for viewing whatever I could. I was to use the
6" refl. to view Saturn and a view other objects later in the evening. But, as
for TU24 either I was looking in the wrong area or it was so dim & fighting
with the light pollution from my house I had not luck. So, that is why I
stated I just kicked back and enjoyed what I could prior to freezing my buns
off. Well hope this clarify's things and sorry for the confusion. Hope
everyone else who tried was able to see something or at least the ISS which is
always fun to see even if for only a few brief moments.

Take care everyone and always hope for clear skies when trying to view...
  Sincerely,
  Steve Palmer

Hi Steve,

Actually, I believe we witnessed an ISS pass while we were looking
for TU24. If not ISS, then it was an oddly tracking satellite which
was naked-eye bright.

As for Binos, I seriously doubt you could have picked TU24 up unless
you were in a really dark environment. Even with the 9.25" and
NASA's Ephemeris data, it took a bit of manual slewing and averted
vision to locate it the first time.

Tim
