So, now I have another opinion.....

Let's agree to freeze the number of lists at what we have now.  For Shallow sky 
observing we have a Lunar List and a Solar System list.  There is the list of 
objects to chase from the city.  For Deep Sky observing we have:  Messier, Best 
of NGC, Best Beyond the NGC, Herschel 400 and the Biggie 1000.

I think that is plenty of observing lists for any amateur observer in the club. 
 It gives an excellent introduction to what someone can see in their telescope. 
 Once anyone completed any combination of 3 or 4 of those lists, they are an 
accomplished observer of the sky.
