Howdy board; Well, as an incoming board member, I do have an opinion. I am not certain that the Beyond the NGC list is useful compared to a SAC 1000 award. Once someone has completed a Messier, SAC NGC and H 400 award list they are a very good observer. Why set up another list that very few people have done? Just tell them that for a really BIG award they need to take on doing 1000 objects that are not on the previous three. If 1000 seems too big, then maybe make it 500. I kinda liked 1000, a nice, round number. That would mean that the sequence of deep sky awards would be: Messier, Best of the NGC, H 400 and then the Big 1000, not to include the previous three lists. Sounds like a smooth progression to me.
