[sac-board] Re: Waivers

Jeff,

If you are going to cite passages, please be accurate. The article you cited
was published in the July issue. It was the original proposal and changes
made to that point. Since then the change has evolved to the point that the
specific paragraphs you cite are no longer included in the proposal that
will be voted upon. Please see the ACTUAL August Issue for the precise
wording. This essentially shows your argument that all members will be
required to sign a waiver as a condition of membership is patently false.

I agree with AJ, there has been plenty of opportunity to debate this issue,
the time has come to end the filibuster and vote and move on. I gave up
counting but for July & August on SAC board there are at lease 300 posts
regarding this issue. Really, all that can be said has been said.

Hello AJ,

From the August 2005 SAC Newsletter page 3 (.pdf version):

"As discussed on Page 1, here is a copy of the Proposed Amendment to
the Constitution. Items Underscored in Blue are additions made based
on comments received. Items In red (or lighter shade of gray for
printed versions) are items that were deleted from the original. They
are kept here for reference as to how the proposal has changed.

Then following in red:

"2. Releases for a series
of events for non-SAC members shall cover
a term of no more than one calendar year
(January through December).
3. SAC members shall sign a release when
paying dues for themselves that covers all
events for the duration of that dues payment.
1. Family memberships shall require
the names of everyone covered by
the membership who is likely to
attend as well as signatures of the
adults.
2. Delinquent renewals are still covered
by the release until formal action
can be taken (like requiring a
newly signed release).
3. SAC members are liabable for all
guests they bring to events requiring
a release unless said guest
signs a release."
