[sac-board] Waiver wire

In all of the emails over the past few days, I seem to have lost track of
the central issue presently at hand. I'll summarize for myself (and
possibly for others). Directors, please correct me if I misinterpret what I
read.
Currently the membership is being asked to consider three amendments to the
SAC constitution:
1.) Article III - 3 introduces the concept of using liability waivers for
any specific event, and grants the directors the power to request use of
such a waiver at any specific event. Such a decision is subject to
ratification by a vote of the members.
2.) Article VI - 1 - 5 states that a member may be expelled from the club
for attending an event that requires a signed waiver and refusing to sign a
waiver for that event.
3.) Article XII defines event participants as those who have signed a
waiver for an event that requires a signed waiver.
So really, all the talk about the contents of a waiver, and its
ramifications, are premature. What is being proposed now is whether or not
SAC should use liability waivers. Do I understand correctly?
