Please excuse this slightly off-topic message, but if you're reading
this you do have a computer. It maybe time to upgrade your computer's
memory, especially if you're not going to upgrade the whole computer.
RAM prices are extremely low right now. You can get 256 MB of SDRAM
for less than $50. I wouldn't recommend getting more than 256 MB
unless you know what you're doing (Windows 98, SE and ME require
modifications inorder to use more than 512 MB). I also would not
recommend upgrading if you computer does not use SDRAM. From what I
remember, Pentium's (not Pentium II, III, and IV) and earlier machines
used other memory (like EDO) and I have not look into the prices of
those.
You can check the web pages of crucial.com or kingston.com to
determine what memory your computer takes. And if you decide to
upgrade, they are also good sites from which to buy from too.
This topic could also be mentioned in the club's newsletter, although
by the time it's published RAM prices may have gone up some by then.
