[sac-board] Re: Suggested changes for SAC Newsletter

The problem with December's issue was the addition of a holiday =
greeting. The spot I put it was apparently where the barcode the Post =
office uses goes. Other than that I haven't had any problems with =
deliveries or returns due to the format of the address. I'll take a look =
at the URL But I really don't think radical changes are necessary.

Toward the latter part of my newsletter tenure, I did some checking on =
the
USPS's web site. Today, I just did similar checking, and the info was a
lot harder to find, but look at these two pages:

    =

The first was the most informative (and I hope the long URL is still
usable).

Apparently the only part of addressed face of the newsletter usable for
non-addressing stuff is the lower 2/3 of the left half. These pages =
show
we can't use it, but also show that they don't use it either. This =
means
the SAC web URL needs to be shrunk so it's only on the left half of the
page.

Also, the return address needs to be all in the same font (the club name
is currently larger).

The phone numbers and E-Mail address may need to be pushed down a bit, =
but
its likely OK where it is.

The address labels shouldn't have periods or commas (although I think =
it's
OK for the name part). I corrected a recent version of the SAC database
where these had crept in.

With these changes, problems like December's debacle shouldn't happen.

        -Paul
