[sac-board] Re: Some Comments about SAC

Ok, we get lots of new members.  Great.

Now, when I get a really good speaker....like tomorrow night.....the room
overflows and we start trying to find another room that is larger.  It costs
more, so we raise the dues again.

I think that a table set up at public viewing sessions to promote the club
would be a good addition.  Maybe a "donations" money can set out to put a
little money in the club bank account.

This has been an unusual last two years, the income and outgo of the this
club has fluctuated and it is difficult to judge the future.

I don't think that SAC ought to change what it does in large measure.  Some
T-shirt and hat sales will probably take care of any money problems we have
and we can keep the dues right where they are.

Let's keep things simple.  Do we really want to try and have the treasurer
keep different logs for people getting a paper newsletter and those
downloading it from the Internet?  How many people are we talking about?  If
there are 20 paper newsletters printed per month, it that such an expense
that the club can't absorb it?  Let's get some real figures here and see if
this is worth haggling about.

This is an astronomy club, we got here because we don't forget that.  Keep
the workings of SAC simple and easy to manage and it will run just fine.

This is not my opinion, it is the truth and if you don't agree with
me....you ought to change your mind before the board meeting tomorrow night.
