Peter, board, and all,

Allow me to expound on this. The idea was to add these routes to the observing
sites as well as the campus, and I've already had other routes offered to me by
another member. I brought up the campus because with Paul's idea about
the map, this seemed to be a good thing to add on it.

I get the impression that everyone thinks I'm wanting to put coordinates
and waypoints up with the map, which we all seem to agree would be
a bit geeky and over the top. What I'm suggesting is offering a file that
someone could download and put into a GPS unit. This "route" makes
it as simple as following a line on their GSP screen. This is actually
very easy to do, and makes navigating unfamiliar places a breeze.
The only reason I'm pushing the idea is because none of the normal
road maps, electronic or otherwise, lend any clues to how to navigate
to the parking lot. The satellite photo is much better, but still, unless
you are familiar with the area, isn't as useful without other verbal clues.

Let's put it this way....how many of us have ever gotten lost inside a huge
apartment/shopping/medical/office/industrial complex, and didn't know
our way around? How much easier would it have been if you literally had
a line on a screen to follow? That's what I'm trying to offer to new members
and visitors. The only thing needed to implement this is a simple link
on the map page.

Geeky? You betcha, but in a cool kinda way. :-)
Thad
