[sac-board] Re: Non-Club Articles in the Newsletter

AJ,

For several years I published an article outlining guidelines for
submissions as a hopefully not to subtle hint in the Jan issue. Due to
general lack of response I stopped.

I presume The Voyager is EVAC's NL? I don't have an issue with it being
submitted to them as well, although, that being said, I wouldn't mind first
crack at it.

Rick, you just know how to pull the correct strings. For some time now I've
been waiting to make an announcement that would, eventually, lead to an
article for the NL. No it doesn't have anything to do with the Messier
Marathon or the Call for Observations.

Having said that, give me 24 to 48 hours for the announcement and, given
sufficient time, I'll try to produce an article. One question I would have
about an article for the SAC NL would be applicability to The Voyager?
Could the same article be sent to their editor without any objection from
SAC members. Only reason I ask - I'm also a member of EVAC and would like
to make it available for them.

Getting back to the main line of discussion, I think having to ask specific
members to do an article is going somewhat astray. Howsomever, making an
announcement at a meeting seems reasonable. Also, someone wanting to do an
article should discuss same with editor to determine publishing date and
length.

Hope this helps and clear skies to all,
aj
