Stan, et al;

The students are preparing a database that will be aimed at the SAC "Best of 
the NGC" objects.  I just thought that a really huge project to start would be 
too big for the membership to embrace right away.  So, an observer would get on 
the site and enter their observations into the Best of the NGC database.  Then 
anyone else can see those observations, photos or scanned drawings.  That is 
the plan.

They are also creating a database of members for use by the Novice group.  It 
will include:  name, scope, email, location--side of town, interests and an 
answer to: are you willing to be a mentor?  So, a newbie would get on and be 
able to find a mentor on their side of town who has a similar scope.  That is 
that plan.

We can always make the database larger, I simply thought that a small project 
would be a better start.

Stan, I also have added LOTS more observations than are on the web site.  If 
you would like I can zip up the folder that has those observations and get them 
to you.  I would dearly love for you to gather up observations from a variety 
of observers and have them available.
