[sac-board] Re: Newsletter Size

Jefe,

Apparantly I'm not getting my point across. The main reson this issue was 1
mb or so in size was the size of the issue, NOT the fonts used. Remeber I
crammed three months worth of newsletter into one issue. My "standard"
newsletter has 12 pages. EVAC's has 10. I also use more graphics than they
do. Even given that our average file sizes are about the same, 450kb. This
paticular EVAC issue was almost all text, only one small graphic. Of cousre
that will compress to a smaller file size. I'd imagine usine MS Word that
EVAC original word file is not much larger than the PDF it creates. Given the
average Publisher file is about 4mb, I'd say Iacrobat is doing pretty good at
compreessing the file down to 450kb. I'm going to guess that the January
issue will come in around 600 kb (Right now, without Profiles or fuzzy spot
graphics, its at 400kb. It is also 14 pages long, 2 more than usual) using
embedded fonts. Still in the ballpark of a resonable download time.

As for embedding the fonts, the vote is now 4-0 in favor, 4-1 if I haven't
changed your mind.
