[sac-board] Re: New Duty for the Secretary (A Proposal)

My hosting service provides anonymous ftp login, for a directory that is
separate from the web site. That way people can up load and down load files
that are stored in this directory. I will check into it more as I have
never used it, but possibly could make it available for the club use.

I've never seen a web server that didn't allow ftp access, although allowing

it anonymously would be unusual. All of the sites that I have a hand in, at
work and play, have their files maintained via ftp. As a side note, my
personal favorite ftp client app is FileZilla - free (open source),
full-featured and rock solid.

Doesn't SAC have an ftp site where the Web site resides? It seems like it
would be easy for the author of a handout to send it to this site by
anonymous ftp rather than putting it in the hands of a central point of
contact.

If she wishes, I will let Jennifer comment on the concept of balancing
tasks by loading up the Secretary with more tasks.
