[sac-board] Re: New Duty for the Secretary (A Proposal)

 OK,

Before this gets blown well out of proportion, lets step back and see what
we are really trying to accomplish here. The main goal of this, as I see ,
is not to divest Paul of work, but to organize and keep tabs on official SAC
documents.

First thing would be to define "Official". From MPOV, that means anything
that has some "legal" connotation. To that end the only thing I can think of
would the Constitution & Bylaws and the Liability Waiver, and POSSIBLY the
SAC Calendar of events. All else is nice to have but not really anything
that could be construed as official.

I really think all that would be needed is a simple document control form
that can be updated when one of these (or any other document deemed
"official" is modified or updated. The record would include a version
number, title, scope, owner/creator, URL & Source document location and
revision dates. Once the owner has the webmaster post it (Pending approval
of the membership if required), all that needs to be done is notate the date
& revision number of the change. This does not need to be kept on anyone's
computer, in fact it would be better if it was kept separate.

I'll draw up a sample form and send it to all who have replied to this
thread off list, probably tomorrow.
