OK, From the Editors desk: as far as ad's for the newsletter go, I generally follow this policy: If the ad is of something that could be of genuine interest or use to SAC members, and is local, I'll publish it. If it looks shady or involves "Investment" or payment for non tangible goods or is strictly commercial in nature, find a more suitable outlet. For the most part I use my own judgment here, however there have been a few cases where I'll seek other opinions, most recently the ad for the $100 laser pointers. I had felt that it was borderline commercial as there was a large quantity for sale. The deciding factor was that it seemed to be a one time purchase by the seller and not a regular business. Most of the board agreed as well, so it ran. The overriding rule is "Is this ad a benefit to the membership?" So Thad, in this case, it would seem that the seller has some equipment that may be of interest to members, so have him/her contact me and I'll get it in. Thad I'm not a SAC member, though I've been to star parties in years past. I have a telescope (w/some lenses) that I'd like to sell. (Single parent, no child support, need money!) Is there a way I could post an ad in your newsletter or on your site? Thanks in advance for your attention.
