[sac-board] Fw: check for software

From what I recall from the board meeting 4+ weeks ago, Steve mentioned
need money but did not know how much and for what software, so we did not
vote on this. This is from memory and I could be wrong.

So I guess this means we need approval from the board.

My only concern is about what the software is and who owns it. Is the
software a builder application or is it something placed on the web
server. If the former, will SAC own the software or the student. I
really don't care who owns the software, I'd just rather know in advance
that we might end up purchasing another copy after the student leaves
DeVry.

A sort of unwritten policy in the past (unwritten until now :-) is that
SAC purchases (or contributes to the purchase of) the software for the
individual and that SAC does not own the software. I don't want to see
SAC burdened with keeping track of software copies and licenses.

Regardless, I vote to approve if we haven't already approved it.

Subject: check for software

[...] please bring a check for the program that I mentioned to the
board. It is for a DeVry student [...] and needs to be for $69.95.
This is for a software program named Pure ASP and it will be used for
the SAC website.

Thanks, Paul;
