E-mail addresses within the mail server itself, should be reasonably secure.
Some of the new SPAM bots go to great lengths to harvest published e-mail
addresses from web pages, text files, and .PDF files, no matter how smart or
clever you've tried to disguise them. i.e. javascript. The only way I've
found is to actually make a graphic of the e-mail address and display that
on the web site with no hot-link associated with it. While it does give the
user your e-mail address to contact you, they have to actually type it into
the "To:" field on their e-mail message.
