Subject: RE: Proposed 2006 Schedule

Hello all;

I have just had a chance to look over the schedule the Rick sent out and in
general it looks good. Three months to discuss:

I will take Feb. 18 at Flatiron as a good night for a Novice Group meeting
and prepare some flyers for the club meeting.

For March, how about no planned star party except the Messier Marathon?
Some years there isn't a good alternative night.

Concerning the Sentinel-Schwaar Star Gaze. If I choose November again then
the 17 and 18 th of November are really the only choices. It does avoid the
All Arizona Star Party and Thanksgiving. Also, we can discuss the plusses
and minuses of going to Sentinel. We don't need to choose now.

Give me some feed back on my choices, please.

Steve Coe

                Subject: Proposed 2006 Schedule

                All,

It's that time of year when we need to start planning next
years Schedule. IN that vain, I've drawn up a preliminary proposal. I think
most dates are fine except for March. Following convention the regular star
party would be Mar 18th, which happens to have very early moonrise, allowing
only 2 hours of dark sky. The following week would be the Messier Marathon,
so moving it back a week isn't really an option. The same occurs in February
but an earlier sunset and later moon rise give about 4 hours of darkness. I
figured this would be a good date for a novice group event.

Anyone have any ideas on how to handle March?

Stan, if you could post this to the web discreetly and
advise the URL so the proposed calendar can be viewed by all members, I'd
appreciate it.
