Here is Marilyn Unruh's reply along with mine. Any ideas on contacting the
rancher?

Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for your reply. I have an inquiry into the SAC Board about how to
contact the Rancher. There is also a guy that lives in a camper on the left
side of the road before the SAC site--his name is Richard, he knows the
rancher and maybe has a way to contact him or you could leave a note for
him. Otherwise, the Rancher might stop by during your observing session
anyway. Regardless, whatever you do, make sure you keep that gate closed!
I haven't been observing down the road but I've been down the road some time
ago. It's seems to be a large flat area not incumbered by a fence with the
capacity of 50 or more cars I imagine.
I'll be part of the SAC entourage at the GCSP this year. Hopefully making
it to the N. Rim for a few days of their Star Party as well.
I'll forward this message onto the SAC Board.
Thanks again for your response.

Jennifer, This is useful information! We checked with the Forest
service for approval and they were fine with our using it. And it's
frequently used for other groups like scouts. But knowing about the
rancher is a big help. Do you have his name and phone number? We will
do more peacemaking. to complement yours.
We plan to have a session out there soon to see how the car situation
can be worked out. I'm actually not in charge of that part, so I'll
pass all this on to Richard Leon. There's another flat area a little
further down on the left that's bigger, and we're considering it as
well. Have you ever used it? The more information the better.
Are you going to Grand Canyon Star Party this year? I'm sharing with
another Prescott observer and his wife this year. Hope to see you there.
Thanks again for letting me know about the Cherry site! We appreciate
it! Marilyn
