Sorry to make waves.
I'm done with the idea. It WAS a simple idea, only intended to make two
meetings incredible with the ability to afford flying someone in with our
combined resources and our larger venue at the planetarium. That's it.
Period.
Forget I started it.
Howard: I'll forward you some ideas/email addresses for speakers in a bit.

Subject: EVAC's Position on Combined Meetings
Sorry Guys, but this is not as I requested. I had in several emails made my
position clear, but let me restate it.
EVAC has planned dates up until August at EVAC's new home, Gilbert Public
Library, period. I am not entertaining any changes to that given our press
release to the public, who will not, or is expected to, chase us around the
Valley.
Given that I have changed venues for the John Dobson meeting for the reason
mentioned above and its better lighting to keep JD on topic, this will free
up the Planetarium usage allowed EVAC. If SAC thinks that GPL is too far
for SAC to drive for the November meeting, (referencing the offer I made to
accommodate a larger crowd for SAC) and ASC is booked, I would consider a
different venue for a combined EVAC/SAC meeting for Don Machholz November
meeting IF I approve of its location.
I will not have EVAC offsite two meetings in a row in order to keep
continuity with our audience.
I have mentioned several times that I will not set a precedent of combining
all meetings that happen to conflict with SAC. EVAC is separate and equal
and I will take EVAC through this period of change as we settle into our new
home.
Howard, please accommodate this request.
To be very clear:
1. EVAC will meet at GPL on May 20th. Howard, please provide a speaker for
EVAC.
2. If GPL is too far for SAC on the November 16th meeting for Don Machholz,
then I must approve the venue that SAC clarifies. If I don't approve, EVAC
will meet at GPL and we will need a speaker.
3. September 16th can be a combined meeting if it is at ASC. This is
pretty much as far west as I expect EVAC members will travel. Additionally,
with the Diamondbacks playing against Colorado, parking will be $5.00,
unless ASC validates. This is something the Parking Garage discourages ASC
from doing on main events nights.
4. EVAC's Planetarium use is available at this time for the month's of
October or December. Howard, if you are able to schedule a fun planetarium
show for either of these months, it would be appreciated.
