[sac-board] Re: December SACnews Printed Issues

Stan,
We've been through this before, but I'm willing to take another lap around
the track.

As for a mailed copy being "Official" because it has a stamp on it, who
really is going to "make up" anything at this level? I really don't understand
your
reasoning here. Maybe if this were a court of law or even corporate
corespondence, but an amateur aatronomy club?

As for download speeds, I can't help that, I have dial up as well and the
longest download I experienced (yes I do check this) is 5 minutes, typically
less
than four. Surely you can go drink a cup of coffe or play a round of solitare
while it's downloading. To me, 4 minutes is hardly worth complaining about,
but then that's just me.

As for printing on both sides of the page, I have to presume your using a dot
matrix printer if you can't print on both sides of the page. While the choice
of hardware is yours, given the current state of the art, you'll have to
accept that most every one else CAN print on both sides of a page and that I'm
not
going to change things for one person.

Also, I will continue to mail the printed copies when I get them from Jack
and get a chance to get to the post office, typically within a day of receiving
them, but it's been know to take me a week to get the time. Once again I do
what I can, but there are other things in life that take precedence over the
newsletter. The only way I'm bringing them to the meeting is if I get them on
the
Thursday prior, and NO I won't be stamping them, I really just don't see the
need.

I imagine you'll continue to get the newsletter by mail, That's fine by me,
it is your option, but from the tone of your post, I'm guessing (correct me if
I'm wrong) that you have not gone on line to get the newsletter and instead
choose to wait till the next meeting. Please tell me I'm wrong because it
would
seem to me that if so your cutting off your nose to spite your face. The
newletter IS available to you now, all you have to do is go online to get it.
You'll eventually get your printed copy.
