If I had to find a reason, it would be Art. III 2: "Incurring financial
obligations..." And yes, it's a bit of a stretch.
If SAC decides to go against the advice of our lawyer, the general
membership should be informed ASAP. This not because I believe its the
wrong decision (I think releases should only be for events like the
marathon), but because the decision might haunt SAC. If the general
membership wants to reverse this decision (which I expect is unlikely)
they will have a chance. If we do this, it will be less likely that
months further down the road, there will be an objection that causes us
to start this all over.
