Steve,
Since I'm not going to the GCSP it doesn't really affect me. I
really don't want to chance bad weather in July after all the weather we
have had this past year. My opinion is that people that want to go to
the GCSP can go ahead and go and those that want to go to 5 mile meadow
can go there. I understand your concern about 2 events in Northern Az,
but there are people that probably are not going to the GCSP. Just my
opinion.
Clear Skies,
David

I did not realize that the Grand Canyon SP was that weekend also.
There are only 13 New Moon weekends in a good year. My thought about
that weekend was that May is just too cold up there and the first
weekend in July is getting into the Monsoons.
However, I do not wish to start a problem with there being a SAC event
in Northern Arizona on the same weekend as GCSP. I will do whatever
the board wishes, that is the reason I posted it here first. If we
want to cancel it or just try for a July 1-2 star party and hope for
good weather, let's do that.
More input, please;
Steve

Hello Steve & all,
The Grand Canyon Star Party starts on that Saturday June 4th. Maybe
an idea to mention to the astronomers going to the GCSP they could
observe a night on the "meadow" before heading onto the canyon in the
morning. It's on the way for those headed up from Phx & Tucson. Looks
like that's what we'll probably do.
Thanks for getting this together for us!

Howdy all;
I thought I would hold a conversation about this on sac board
before posting it as a general announcement.
I plan to set up another high country observing session at 5 mile
meadow on June 3 and 4. I will get with the rangers again and let
them know we are coming. Also, Jack can order up a portable
toilet for the group. I will collect money to pay for that.
The announcement will include a map to the location near Happy
Jack, the dates of the star party and the fact that it will be cold!
Any thoughts on that date? Anything else we need to say as part
of the announcement?
Let me know and I will put together a map that can be posted on
the SAC website.
Clear Skies;
Steve Coe
