No idea on the cost issue for the 20th... I think Steve Coe set that all
up. But it was held at "Bud Brown's Barn" (on Northern Avenue), which
has since been sold to a different group.
Some past anniversary (or Xmas) dinners were held at Pinnacle Peak
Patio, Reata Pass, and one year, at the Scottsdale Hilton ! (Would you
believe I have a picture of Gerry Rattley in a suit (!!) from that
affair ??)
I suggested to Jennifer P. the possibility of having an out-of-town
"name" guest speaker. Unfortunately, David Levy is not well at this
time... (He "owes" us a talk, since he has found another comet!) I have
some additional ideas, presuming the club would like to fund the
expenses, transportation and such.....
I would suggest the Science Center downtown as a venue (they do catered
dinners and such, no idea how expensive), BUT the downtown traffic is a
MESS this year, thanks to the light rail development.....
There is the Peoria Discovery Center, don't know if they do
dinners...... Just an IDEA, mind you, haven't a clue as to cost....
How about a field trip out of town and dinner, say, in Tucson or
Flagstaff? Or Safford, after a tour to Mt. Graham? (There IS ONE good
place in Safford......)
