[sac-board] Re: 2008 Meeting Dates

I should have indicated this in my earlier message but didn't. I agree that
Steve's attempt to avoid conflicts with EVAC is an excellent idea and
support that effort. Looks like Tom has backed it up with some good
information about lunar sequencing.

Clear skies,

While I will no longer be a Board member in 2008, I endorse Steve's attempts
to avoid conflicts with EVAC meetings. I know that there are very few of us
who attend both meetings, but it is nice to have EVAC meetings open as an
option.

I went to the USNO Data Services site to find out how much dark time we
would be missing wth Steve's proposed changes. Listed below are moon rise
or set times for the 8 meetings that would not conflict with EVAC dates. In
parenthesis is my estimate of how many dark hours would be missed on these
meeting nights. In every case but one, the dark hours are after midnight,
since Steve rescheduled to First Quarter, and the maximum number of dark
hours is 3 1/2.

So at least from an astrnomical standpoint, there's no reason to have a
problem with Steve's schedule changes.
