sounds like you're referring to the rapid cassettes, a system
developed by agfa i think in the 1930s. iirc, they would eventually
(1950s, i guess?) incorporate a film speed setting feature similar to
that used on the later 110 cassette. i've read somewhere that agfa
didn't invent rapid cassettes, per se, but rather adapted them from a
ansco design.
