Richard,

Rolleigrip? You mean Rolleifix, don't you?

And BTW, I am also concerned with your house. Its hard to tell from the reports exactly where the fires are, I hope they stay far away from you. I don't know what impression the news reports leave in areas away from Southern and Central California but these fires are about as extensive as any I remember from nearly sixty years of living here. Right now it is smokey outside with a yellow sun and the smell of wood smoke in the air. I live not too far from downtown Los Angeles, in an area not directly threatened by the fires but they still seem close. I have a few friends who live close to the fire areas and have been a little worried about them. After a few very dry years, and with a strong "Santa Ana" wind, its not surprizing that this has happened. We have plants here which burn naturally ever few years as part of their life-cycle, they are easily inflamed especially when very dry. This is not the whole problem but means we can get brush fires started even with the best avoidance actions. I have not measured the relative humidity here but the National Weather Service has been reporting RH of less than 10% in the city and as low as 5% in the foot hills. I don't know how many thousands of firemen (and women) are working on the fire lines but they are working in temperatures of well over 100 degrees and are absolutely exceptional people IMO.
