Okay -- I really wanted a new Leica M8 until I saw the Sinar/Rolleiflex or Rolleiflex/Sinar Hy6. Gimmeee!!

I did find one claim on the Sinar website regarding the new camera intriguing: "The Sinar Hy6 is currently the only 6x6 cm medium-format camera with 6x4.5 cm capability, so that it can be used for vertical and horizontal as well as square photographs."

Wow! Imagine that! Of course, our old SL66s have the same capability by simply swapping magazines and, for that matter, any 6x6 can have 6 x 4.5 capability by cropping the image. I'm nitpicking, however. I'm sure Sinar was referring to digital cameras only.

I do wish someone would fashion an adapter to marry a digital back to an SL66. I couldn't afford the back, but it'd be nice to dream.
