[rollei_list] Re: rollei_list Pentacon

In my experience there are many excellent lenses available for the Pentacon Six, but a re-worked Kiev 60 (I have an Arax 60) is a much more reliable body to mount them on. I went through three supposedly CLAed Pentacon Sixes from "Cupeg" a reliable Slovak dealer, and eventually had Eddie Smolov pick the best one and repair it (for which I received credit from the seller).Even then, it required two more repairs in the first few months of use. My Arax 60 has given me no trouble at all, has a much brighter finder, is easier to load, and doesn't have the back latch pop open whenever I remove it from my bag (an endearing P-6 trait).

I still use my Rollei 2.8E for most of my work, but its great to have access to those wonderful (and cheap) Zeiss Jena lenses (and some of the Ukrainian lenses such as the 30mm Arsat fisheye and 65 mm Hartblei shift lens, are also pretty good).

Thanks for the reply Jerry, perhaps the Pentacon is
the same as the Exacta, and with the relative costs
of each camera I'm thinking about taking a punt on a
Pentacon. One point worth mentioning though is that
while the Exactas lenses look superb the Pentacons
look agricultural.
