Subject: [rollei_list] odd lens mount -- a little OT

Question: what 6x6cm SLR took a m44 or m45 lensmount? I just bought a
wide, looks like 20mm Flektogon on Exakta, but is a 50mm, "Carl Meyer"
(??) #438, and when I hold it up in front of my Praktisix, yes it does
back-focus for a 120-size format. Any idea what it fits? It is a
click-stop manual lens, coated.

Carl Meyer is a trade name used by Burke & James for lenses it assembled from surplus parts. Some are good some are bad. I've never been quite clear about just what the source or sources of the parts was. Is is possible this is for the 6x6 Exakta camera that came out in the early 1950's? There were some other cameras that used bayonet mounts. I think one of the Plaubel cameras did. If you can turn up a Burke & James catalogue of the time you may be able to find the lens.
