Cosina builds it, and they'd be crazy to not use building-blocks from the
Bessa R series, even if they modified some of them (like the rangefinder).
No marketing brochure will convince me otherwise.

The last sentence of the article "If the ZI can evolve beyond being seen as
an upgraded version of the Bessa and a cheaper cousin of the Leica M, than
we have a interesting new player on the stage of the CRF theatre." seems to
prove my point, although the article does not look at the Bessa R anywhere
else.

If we are to engage in link exchange, look at the table in
<http://photo.net/equipment/leica/m7-bessa-ikon> for a comparison of
technical details. You'll find a lot of similarities between the Bessa R
and the "Zeiss Ikon".
