Perhaps Hauke did not know that the "new" Zeiss Ikon RF camera was
born from a meeting during the 2002 Photokina between Hirofumi
Kobayashi, the Cosina President and fine mechanics fan with Dr
Winfried Scherle, Carl Zeiss Camera Lens Division head, Cosina is the
same manufacturer Hauke mentioned as making high quality cameras and
lenses labeled "Voigtländer".

The design bureau Henssler & Schultheiss linked to Carl Zeiss for
several projects along the years studied old Zeiss Ikon cameras
designs very much and did the final design that CZ preferred regarding
the Porsche design (consulted for the project too). CZ and Cosina
engineers had several meetings to develop the final production
prototype considering the highest standard for the camera manafucture
but also considering the camera price to do an affordable product.
This camera allowed CZ to build some lenses they could not make due to
a lack of a right platform.
There is nothing hollow about the new Zeiss Ikon RF camera.
