The first Kodak "Portra" film was for portraiture but it sold so well that Kodak likes to use names, usually meaningless, which make money. Although the name "Portra" is not quite meaningless as it really does kind of sound like its short for "portrait". So you use "Portra" for portraits and you use "Portra" also for trees. Don't count on them coming out with another film called "treetra". Or "landscapetra". People would think they were only for horizontal pictures!! I'm surprise people don't think Portra is only for vertical pictures. I sure do.
