[rollei_list] another odd question RE; Rolleicord

I've had a number of people comment on my old Rolleicord V.  Some tell me
the Cords were "not built to the same standards as the concurrent
Flexes."  and suggest that it's xenar 3.5 is not as sharp as the xenars
on some Flexes....  
I know the Cord was cheaper -- but was it made to lower quality control
standards?
